Position Summary:Responsible for managing Aetna Internationals regional medical cost containment efforts. Actively sources and drives medical cost savings initiatives to fruition; tracks results of initiatives. Fundamental Components:Drive medical cost saving initiatives to completion through effective results focused project management involving multiple functions and types of initiatives including medical management, network, operations, and sales. Proactively source new medical savings initiatives through data analysis, process analysis, and direct internal feedback. Extend initiatives to other geographies as appropriate, bringing best practices and learnings to bear. Hold accountability for regional results and initiative development, including tracking regional business results and capturing critical information for financial accountability and support for underwriting and actuarial practices. Support business development, sales, and client management activities as needed with respect to cost management. Develops and oversees the development of information to identify and implement network enhancement opportunities. Designs and oversees the design of effective processes for achieving business goals. Participates in the evaluation of product design and its impact on medical cost. Act as an advocate for change may require influencing others to see the value in strategic cost containment. Background / Experience desired:5+ years experience with one or more of the following methodologies: project consulting, business process consulting, financial strategic analysis, and/or risk management consulting. Experience with moderate scale initiatives with moderate degree of complexity. Demonstrated superior business process, project management and organizational redesign experience. Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change in complex organizations. Demonstrated leadership with relevant initiatives: Business process, enterprise business project management/consulting, financial strategic planning and analysis, strategic planning, risk management. Demonstrated relationship management skills at the senior level; capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously. Demonstrates a strong bias for action; highly proactive. Thinks and acts both strategically and tactically. Operates successfully in a global, highly matrixed and changing environment. EducationThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
