POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing the skills and experience to move upward into a sales position. This individual will be supporting the Public and Labor sales teams with new sales or existing business. The right candidate will be involved in activities that will include, but are not limited to, entry level sales training, enrollment meetings, health fairs, interregional RFA's, sharing or managing a book or business, inside sales, sales proposal development, customer reporting and constituent relationships (brokers, producers, plan sponsors, customers). Independent research of prospects, relationship building (brokers, producers, plan sponsors, customers) and RFP activities are the primary responsibilities of this position.

Fundamental Components:

The Marketing Coordinator will work with the Market Head and Sales VPs to develop an understanding of the key markets in the region. They will learn to identify key constituents, competitors and Aetnas areas of strength, weaknesses, opportunities & threats; near and long term objectives for each Market, including target prospects. They will represent Aetna as a trusted partner for TPAs, Brokers and Consultant Firms, Union Locals, and Public Entities. This person will work with the SVPs to be included in external meetings in the market with the end goal of being able to independently represent Aetna. A major responsibility will be to review, understand and scrub RFP bid specifications, identify missing information and compile questions. Be able to independently input opportunities in SalesForce.com and submit the RFP to the Sales Support Mailbox. The individual will facilitate and participate on all strategy calls, meeting prep, etc. that the SVP participates in, as well as playing lead for questions to the field from internal sources. They will prepare and attend finalist presentations and assist in all aspects of the implementation process. The Marketing Coordinator will be a key player within the sales team.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Sales Support experience 1-3 years, required. Insurance Industry Experience is desired.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
