POSITION SUMMARY:The mission of Consumer Health and Services (CHS) at Aetna is to build the leading health services franchise in the world, based on cutting edge analytics to influence consumer and provider behavior, resulting in improved health and more efficient resource utilization. Analytics and Behavior Change (ABC) is an integral part of the CHS organization which embeds world class analytic insights into key decision processes throughout the organization, focuses on our biggest, most complex problems and drives measurable impact on performance. This position will report into Head of Strategy for Analytics and play a critical role in shaping and developing the enterprise and business unit clinical data strategy. This is a high profile position with high visibility to senior leadership and is responsible for the short and long term clinical data strategy for the enterprise. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:• Develop short to long term strategic clinical data roadmap for the ABC organization that can be leveraged for modeling, products, programs• Research, evaluate and execute pilots/ partnerships with third party external data and research companies to source member and provider data that will help Aetna achieve its analytic and clinical product/program goals• Analyze ABC s clinical strategic objectives, as well as industry clinical trends to identify, recommend and pursue initiatives and technologies that can meet those investment objectives• Develop, prioritize and manage clinical data pipeline across various sources (external claims, EMR, Lab, etc.)• Lead and manage development of board presentations and supporting documents and formal recommendations to senior leadership • Partake in ongoing market and competitive analysis to aid in strategic decision making• Develop relationships with internal peers, external consultants and cross-functional team members as required in support of initiatives• Analyzes and manipulates data to extract information to make key business decisions MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor s degree from a top university, Master s preferred• Experience as a healthcare analyst and management consultant• Minimum 3 years experience in a mix of strategy, consulting, venture capital, or corporate development roles in the healthcare industry• Experience with Electronic health care information including Medical Records (EMR)• Experience manipulating large datasets via SAS, R, Python or other data manipulation tools is a plus• Experience with Tableau is a plus• Effective communication/influencing skills applied to broad internal/external audience• Demonstrates effective business acumen and strategic thinking • Makes effective decisions that achieve business goals and objectives• Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office; developing complex presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint• Ability to support a high paced agenda and work independently EDUCATIONThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master s degree or equivalent experience.
