The Senior Communications Partner, Markets Communication, is responsible for communications strategies to support business growth and advance Aetna's reputation nationally and in local markets. The individual will create and execute communications that promote Aetna's work with providers to improve the health care quality, cost and experience for our members through value-based care initiatives, including joint ventures. Responsibilities will include executive visibility, writing message platforms, media relations in partnership with the media relations team, and working collaboratively with other internal areas to develop and executive internal and external communication campaigns.

Fundamental Components: Serve as communications lead for the vice president of Network Strategy & Provider Experience and the vice president of Transformative Markets to advance Aetna's value-based care, network and provider experience stories Champion, develop and implement a communications strategy and related campaigns to advance Aetna's provider experience and value based care storiesDevelop communications to promote the role of joint ventures and other progressive provider partnerships; collaborate with internal and external colleagues as well as external agencies to inform planning and ensure alignmentDevelop and manage executive and internal communications to ensure associate understanding of business strategies and goalsPartner internally and externally with key stakeholders, including Network leadership, Joint Venture leadership, local market leaders, Marketing, Government Relations, and communication colleagues to reach media, influencers, public officials, Aetna associates and other audiences Source, hire and manage agencies and/or freelancers to support communication programs as neededTrack, measure and report on internal and external communications using monitoring and measurement toolsEnsure communications are error-free, accurate, appropriately approved and consistent with Aetna's core values

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:Best-in-class communications strategist with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing and 10 years of experience in external communications, media relations and internal communications with the ability to leverage multiple communications tools for maximum effectDemonstrated experience managing outside agencies and freelancersExperience developing and executing successful communication programs for major business organizations Strategic thinking, flexibility, resourcefulnessExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex concepts conversationalExperience working in a large corporation, and in an industry undergoing complex changeTeam player who leads highly complex projects with cross-functional teamsSavvy at building relationships and gaining influence


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
