Allina Health and Aetna are building a team to support a new joint business venture. This role is dedicated to driving Joint Venture enrollment/membership in the local market. The Business Development Executive is accountable for sales, both new and conversions, client growth and member retention for their respective Joint Venture.

The role will work collaboratively with the Institutional Businesses Sales and Service teams to support Joint Venture (JV) growth with primary emphasis on local NA Branch Business and both NA and MM locally headquartered prospective plan sponsors.

This newly created position will be directly involved in the identification of sales opportunities providing technical support, guidance, coaching and direction to assigned local market sales teams across all segments. He/she will provide guidance to sales reps on the Joint Venture Value Proposition. He/she will ensure proper alignment at the local market level between the JV and his/her assigned Aetna sales team members and their assigned broker partners. Identifies and provides sales and product support to expand and maintain business relationships directly in the market with new and existing large, complex accounts.


· Gathers, analyzes and synthesizes business intelligence to drive achievement of strategic business objectives Conducts thorough business case and external customer value analysis to determine selection, prioritization positioning and approach for broadest range of potential solutions (e.g. outsourcing, process improvements, technology solutions)

· Identify, analyze and prioritize from available data collection the Top Prospective Joint Venture products and services

· Act as strategic partner to internal and external constituents including Aetna Sales and Service Teams, Producers/Consultants and Prospects/Plan Sponsors

· Serve as JV Sales Subject Matter Expert to help both locally based and inbound branch business understand the Value Proposition of the JV

· Initiate contact with prospects directly and through producer/consultant relationship and create dossiers and top prospect template

· Assess the competitive environment and develop sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and drive a competitive advantage

· Attend regional conferences and own topics for consultant and plan sponsor capability presentations and meeting

· Cultivates productive relationships with brokers, consultants, customers, prospects and peers


· Demonstrated leadership ability; capable of influencing across multiple market segments

· Experience managing a matrix organization; capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously.

· Skilled at identifying new growth opportunities and driving sales strategies

· Good Interpersonal and communication skills

· Outstanding verbal and written skills, including formal presentations

· Tableau, PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft Office Tools

· Executive level presence and ability to promote a vision

· Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills.

· Ability to influence diverse teams and build strong relationships

· 5+ years -experience with several of the following methodologies: management consulting, project consulting, business process consulting, financial strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning, and/or risk management consulting

· 3-5 years sales experience, preferably within industry.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
