Contribute to the design of new applications and/or enhancements to existing apps.

Review application architecture and design to insure best in class solutions are put forth.

Oversee coding and unit testing to insure high quality solutions are created

Code when needed & opportunity arises.

Communicate and cooperate with partners to insure infrastructure changes are planned and executed seamlessly.

Evaluates new technologies and skills to help the team grow and improve processing capabilities.

Helpdrive DevSecOps at application or suite level.

Apply industry wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to assist in developing solutions.

Evaluate and identify issues and constraints pertaining to technology approach.


  • 5+ years of distributed computing design & development, with understanding of algorithms, data structures, and security protocols

  • Excellent knowledge of Hadoop and/or Cloudera integration points with enterprise assets outside Hadoop

  • Well versed with healthcare analytics and corresponding data sources : Claim, Rx, Lab, etc. is desirable

  • Experience with a version control system (e.g., GitHub), issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira), team collaboration software (e.g., Confluence), and continuous integration environments (e.g., Jenkins).

  • Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning services and applications.Understanding of systems capacity, bottlenecks, and basics of memory, CPU, storage, and networks.

  • Ensure the team has appropriate design and technical specifications to deliver high quality products.

  • Demonstrates support and contributions to the continual evolution of a product vision and overall road map.

  • Demonstrates reliability, self-motivation, and ability to focus on high quality delivery of work products with a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.

  • Exposure to Hadoop cluster management, performance optimization, benchmarking,and monitoring tools

  • Providing technical guidance to software team members.

  • Worked closely with management to ensure a smooth delivery/transition process.


  • Hadoop (Hortonworks distribution preferred) and/or Cloudera

  • HDFS Hive, HQL, SQL, Pig, Sqoop,Spark, Shell Scripting

  • Map/Reduce/TEZ

  • Proficiency in high-level programming (Java(preferred), C++, etc.)

  • Proficiency using Python, Scala is desirable


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
