POSITION SUMMARY

Supports Aetna's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through balanced framework of financial, clinical, and business process review and analysis. Manages pricing commitments measurement process to assure compliance and highlight and address non-performance.

Fundamental Components:

Reviews and absorbs data from multiple sources and uses that information to develop insights about markets and products, processes and problem solving.

Keeps Medicare GMs and other key business constituents informed of trends, new technologies and other issues relevant to their business.

Advises senior leadership on actions to improve profitability.

Maintains a routine forum for triaging critical issues to the most appropriate resources that can resolve.

Partners with Government Services senior management teams to maintain financial, clinical, and operational control of the business outcomes, working with Local & Regional Business leads to drive fundamental components of continual process improvement.

Establishes a balanced set of metrics to manage the business and drive strategic decision making.

Partners with Medicare Medical Directors, and Medicare Network Leads to develop and implement actions that improve quality and efficiency, enabling and further enhancing competitiveness.

Anticipates challenges to achieving pricing commitments and develops recommendations for successful execution.

Leads the coordination and development of Medicare corrective action plans, quick strike, deep dive, and other necessary triage processes.

Monitors business performance to identify early indicators of financial/performance problems.

Manages acquisition integration to ensure planned synergies are achieved.

Identifies emerging product/market trend vulnerabilities and opportunities through analysis; reviews all assigned markets, develops and implements action plans.

Utilizes all available applications to locate difficult or hard to find information when needed for constituents.

Identifies and drives plans to align resources with shared services to drive expected Medicare focus.

Supports Medicare GMs with competitive intelligence analysis and benchmarking.

Monitors and evaluates risk and delegation arrangements; Provider Collaborations, P4P, and Reinsurance.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

10+ years financial management experience including strategic and business planning, accounting and financial analysis. Extensive experience in healthcare, managed care insurance or financial services.

Experience supporting a P&L PMP, Six Sigma or other Certificate in either Process Improvement or Project Management is desirable.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
