Working in a high performing and innovative culture, this position will focus on transforming the way Aetna delivers value to the Commercial Sales business through a consultative/data driven model. This role will need to apply industry wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to assist in deliverables that are highly significant to the environment. While evaluating and identifying enhancement opportunities, the candidate will coordinate and implement analytical solutions,through designing and developing ETL structures via the utilization of SSIS/ SQLServer. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, the desire to lead/teach others, and a passion for exceeding user s expectations are key qualities to be successful in this role.


· On a team level, provides leadership for managing workloads, setting commitments(for quality and on-time deliverables), team metrics, and management reporting.

· Coaches team of strategic and technical employees/consultants.

· Provides advice, guidance and support to ensure reporting application availability and compliance with established SLAs.

· Innovate,ideate and execute the business needs from start to finish, from storytelling,wireframes to the finished product and ensure operational success.

· Provides thought leadership to identify and define actionable metric and review with business leaders for the successful rollout.

· Consults and partners with internal clients to identify opportunities to implement BI/Analytical solutions, at an advanced level, to resolve business issues.

· Acts as a data analytics owner translating business needs into analytical projects and actions.

· Collaborates with business partners to understand problems and goals, and develop analytical solutions, statistical analysis, data reports, and performing metrics.

· Presents recommendations to senior staff members and internal clients.

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

· Highly proficient at writing queries, views, indexes, stored procedures, DMV s, triggers and functions within SQL.

· Proven ability to deliver solutions using Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2016) Azure Cloud.

· Strong SSIS development skills using SQL Server Data Tools and Visual Studio.

· Participate in Database & model design in SSIS technical design sessions and perform review code.

· Experience with modifying existing databases and database management systems.

· Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principals, and practices.

· Ability to translate business requirements into ETL processes to automate manual processes.

· Designs data model ETLs, tables, databases, triggers, and event notifications.

· Expert in Data Lake and Data Warehouse concepts.

· Strong SSIS development skills using SQL Server Data Tools and Visual Studio.

· Proficient in SQL performance – tuning and optimizations.

· Ensure data quality and integrity across system and create cross application documentation.

· Experienced in SSIS deployment process and scheduling.

· Assist in troubleshooting issues and work with team to address route cause.

· Develop and advocate for database best practices, standards and processes.

· Superior collaboration and communication skills within and across teams


· 5+years of experience in healthcare.

· Extensive knowledge of data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing.

· Extensive experience working effectively with business unit leads.

· Effective communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical business leads in written and verbal form.

· Diverse work experience in building databases and writing codes, to help develop and direct strategic changes, in order to provide solutions and enhance the customer experience.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master s or Bachelor s degree with equivalent experience.



· 10+years experience in project delivery, systems analysis, application program development, technology support packages, and product/technology evaluations(specific to reporting applications)

Note: This is a very technical position with managerial responsibilities.


· 10+years of SQL Experience including: T-SQL skills, stored procedures, ETL,triggers, and SSIS.

· 5+years of experience data modeling and data warehousing.

· 5+ years leading a consulting team.
