Aetnas Technology Operations group is currently looking for an exceptional ETL Developer/Informatics Analyst to play a pivotal role in our efforts to integrate supplemental data for Medicare Stars Ratings. This role will be actively involved in the design and development of ETL Pipelines to deliver and ingest data. The ideal candidate has 3 or more years of technical experience in a programming language for ETL/Data warehousing, and will gain the opportunity to learn about healthcare data across multiple subject areas, as well as learn big data technologies. In this role, the candidate will work with a team of developers to create repeatable processes using cutting-edge programming tools and technologies.

Fundamental Components:

Under direct supervision, create highly repeatable processes to integrate disparate data from multiple healthcare providers into Aetna's systems. This role will require development and maintenance of software associated with Medicare Stars supplemental data integration. The ideal candidate will support, maintain, and integrate data using an existing ETL process. The role requires development, data analysis, production support, and the ability to adapt quickly to change. Object oriented development experience, Big Data, Tableau experience a plus.


3 or more years of progressively complex related experience. Has strong knowledge of large scale applications and building high volume data pipelines. Experience building data transformation and processing solutions. Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands. Proven knowledge of SAS. Visualization/Analytics experience preferred. Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems. Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources. Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams. Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking ability.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
