The Plan Sponsor Insights team is looking for a Benchmark Consultant to manage the development, project management, execution and communication of research specific to our group commercial business, as well as business and competitive intelligence insights to supplement customer survey data and insights. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross functional teams, develop content to shape insights and provide value, and present externally to Aetna clients and business stakeholders.

Fundamental Components:

The Benchmarking Consultant will manage Aetna's employer-driven data reporting solution for the group commercial business managing the collection of employer data through surveys and providing detailed analysis of that data to better help Aetna customers understand how they are performing. This function demonstrates Aetnas ability to be consultative and provide meaningful insights and trends. Key activities performed by this role include:

Performs ongoing research of employer benefits trends (group commercial market) including best market sources of data and insights

Develops survey strategy to meet data needs of the field including but not limited to timing, segmentation, delivery, etc

Facilitates development of surveys for data collection and analysis

Administers surveys and performs data validation and analysis to provide deeper insights for our

customers including references to relevant data from external studies

Creates insights for use internally and externally by defined constitute groups and segments

Works with marketing, legal and quality review to ensure content meets branding and legal standards

Presents results to customers; participates in employer benchmarking forums

Prepares trend reports for the field teams to better understand top trends, employer decision making, etc.


Understands large group employer benefit trends; knowledgeable about industry-leading trends and trusted data sources

Ability to translate large sets of data into insights

Excellent presentation and consultative skills

Strong project management skills

Strong analytic skills

Proven track record in meeting project milestones and negotiating for resources.

Experience includes development and management of multiple budgets related to various projects and or program.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
