The primary responsibility of this position will be to support large group commercial pricing. This will include leading the large group rate reviews and block calculation checks for the entire country.

Fundamental Components:

  • Manage the large group rate review process

  • Provide guidance to local market actuaries on how to price their large group commercial business.

  • Get exposure to senior management communicating rating actions taken nationally.

  • Develop quarterly block renewal guidance for renewal business.

  • Help set target margin for our commercial block of business, identifying sources of margin/profit.


  • Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • The ideal candidate will have their FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) or at minimum have your ASA designation

  • Ability to communicate complicated concepts in a clear/concise manner

  • Must have prior commercial business experience


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


    Actuarial/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is desired

    Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required


  • This position will provide exposure to all commercial actuarial as well as senior management.

  • Get experience applying core actuarial principles in pricing large group commercial plans.

  • Learn how multiple actuaries approach the same problem and help define best practices.
