Aetna Digital is looking for Senior DevOps Engineers (For the Data Platform Engineering Team) who have balanced between software engineering and operations roles such as development, configuration management and code deployment. The Data Engineering team is building a highly scalable multi-cloud platform to meet next generation requirements for analytics, business intelligence, and products focused on helping people live healthier lives.
In this role, you will use your experience with as a Senior DevOps Engineer to build our next generation health platform as a member of one of our scrum teams in Burlington, MA, Hartford, CT or Denver, CO. You will work on cutting-edge applications and products. Brainstorming with architects, product managers, data scientists and fellow engineers to build data products used improve the health outcomes of millions of people.
Be part of and collaborate with software engineering teams to deploy and operate our services, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations in a multi-cloud environment.
Evangelize and lead the team in the DevOps practice, ensuring delivery of a highly available and scalable system
Help troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments
Develop and document automation tools for building, deploying, and monitoring
Design and develop instrumentation to provide transparency to system state, history, and trends
We develop real products. You need to be an expert in containerized automation
We prioritize professional industry experience; advanced degrees alone do not replace real world experience
We have massive scale. You need to have experience in distributed, scalable systems. You've worked with modern data storage, messaging, and processing tools

We are and need other self-starters who can see the big picture and prioritize their work to make the largest impact on the business and customers vision and requirements .
You have excellent communication, leadership and collaboration skills
5+ years building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins
3+ years in the public cloud, such as AWS, Azure & GCP (Ideal is AWS)
Experience with Git, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible in mission critical production environments
Must have 2+ years of experience with maintaining and building Microservices Architecture in production using containers
Must have experience with Unix/Linux systems with scripting experience
Must have experience building data pipelines and automating Big Data platform applications/services
Preferably experience with Hadoop and data in various forms (data warehouses/relational SQL, NoSQL, unstructured data environments/PIG, HIVE, Impala)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
