POSITION SUMMARY

We re seeking a lead architect with strategic experience who will research, model & integrate architectures to align with business strategy, goals & objectives. Lead architect will create architectural principles to support business goals, & develop IT frameworks that support business applications. Be responsible for the data & analytics architecture that aligns with the business, along with high-level planning for development considering various constraints, adherence to standards & differing needs across the business.

Fundamental Components:

Drive stewardship of Aetna s unified data platform & analytics fabric • Perform gap analysis & develop plans for business & technical capabilities for enterprise wide use of big data & analytics • Determine strategic direction by analyzing client operations, applications & programming; review objectives with clients & evaluate current systems & recommend future enhancements • Develop state-of-the-art data & analytics solutions by designing proposed system

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

• Extensive experience in regulated industries (healthcare preferred) & large corporate environments •8 years business experience with diverse operational, development & technology roles • 3 years architecture experience with infrastructure, enterprise, or solution architecture design. Knowledge of Hortonworks ecosystem of products and technologies • API Creation & Management (REST, SOAP, etc.) • Service-oriented architecture Information security management • Information management • Information security architecture

Desired Skills:

Experience with Git, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible in mission critical production environments · Strong knowledge of programming languages/tools including: Java, OOLanguages, Python, Spark, SQL, R, Hive, JavaScript & Shell Scripts · Must have experience with Unix/Linux systems & scripting experience · Must have experience building data pipelines & automating Big Data platform applications/services · Preferably experience with Hadoop & data in various forms (data warehouses/relational SQL, NoSQL, unstructured data environments/PIG, HIVE, Impala) · 15+ years experience in enterprise, application & information architecture design. Significant experience managing the application delivery process. · Must demonstrate technical leadership, able to turn vision into action, drive outcomes, & promote common goals & actions. · Must demonstrate an understanding of enterprise integration across hybrid processing environments. · Position requires expert knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, & architectures. · Minimum of 7 years of people & project management experience required Must demonstrate an understanding of the following disciplines: enterprise architecture best practices, business architecture, information architecture, application architecture & integration architecture. · Experience with the development of enterprise architectures in large corporate environment. · Experience managing matrixed staff with ability to leverage non-directs to complete tasks. · Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex and often contentious issues, & reach consensus and work through people to achieve key goals. · Outstanding oral & written communication skills including formal presentations for all levels of management combined with strong collaboration/influencing. · Experience with architecture modeling tools · Statistical Regression · Machine Learning · Predictive analytics · Deep Learning · AI Specialized computing environments (e.g. GPU Servers) · Public & Private Cloud environments · Robust understanding of vendor landscape including open sourceLicenses and Certifications

The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) preferred

EDUCATION

Highest level of education desired is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Masters Preferred.
