POSITION SUMMARY

Negotiates, recruits and executes behavioral health provider contracts in accordance with company standards in order to maintain and enhance provider networks while meeting and exceeding accessibility, quality and financial goals

Fundamental Components:

Contacts, communicates with, and recruits behavioral health providers to join Aetna provider networks (). Primary focus will be Medicare initially. Negotiates and/or re-negotiates solo and group provider contracts in support of network quality, availability and financial goals () Provides support with network development, maintenance and refinement activities to further the effectiveness of cross-market network management units (*) Works up, down and across the organization to garner support for provider enrollment activities Ensures all aspects of operational implementation are completed on a timely and accurate basis

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

1-3 years experience with behavioral health provider negotiations and contracting. Understanding of behavioral health services and contracting strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong problem solving and organizational skills.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Flexible telework/office based schedule.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Mastery of provider contracts, contracting options, PADU guidelines as well as provider configurations. Understands the Aetna organization and support systems while understanding how to "get things done" within the company. Foundation negotiating skills are a required competency. In-depth knowledge of the managed care industry and practices, as well as a strong understanding of Aetna competitor strategies, practices, and financial/contracting arrangements.
