Aetna s internship experience is known as the Summer Associate Program and is a nationally recognized experience. Our Summer Associates gain valuable work experience and participate in:· A cross-functional project that provides solutions to real business issues at Aetna· Community service initiatives· A guided mentoring program· Networking events· Discussions with senior leadersAnd our Summer Associates have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a future role with Aetna. The Actuarial Summer Associate Program serves as the pipeline for our Actuarial Leadership Development Program a full-time, six-year rotational program.What are the goals
The program doesn t just help you develop actuarial skills; it accelerates your development. You ll get well-rounded experience and exposure to life as an actuary at one of the nation s leading healthcare companies while honing your leadership skills. What you will do
Our positions will immerse you in a key business area with real work experience on essential projects. There will be networking opportunities within and outside of the actuarial field as well as career development in everything from technical skills to public speaking. The location of each position will vary, so relocation for the summer may be required. If you relocate for the summer, summer housing coordination and a stipend will be provided to those that qualify. What you need· Ability to pass actuarial exams (preferable)· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills· Effective communications skills· To demonstrate leadership and initiative You are eligible if you· Are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, or related degree is preferred)· Have a 3.0+ major GPA (preferred)· Have an anticipated graduation date between December 2019 - June 2020· Have a willingness to relocate (if applicable)· Have an interest in a full-time position within the ALDP upon graduation What we doAetna is about more than just doing a job.
