The Medical Economics Senior Consultant manages, leads, or participates on complex medical economic projects (e.g., Medical Cost Savings Initiatives). Project Management accountabilities include project oversight including initiation, identification and completion of key deliverables to ensure all business objectives are met. Responsible for the development and implementation of key medical economics business efforts e.g. medical cost initiatives, policies/programs and analytical models. Accountable for all financial projections associated with project. Challenging analytical environment that also requires fostering strong relationships. The ideal candidate will have an interest in problem solving, feel confident in their decision making, and feel rewarded by providing outstanding service to our internal clients. Medical Economics requires knowledge from many areas of the company and is often a gateway to additional internal positions. Ideal candidate will be located in a Southeast or Central territory state.
Serves as project manager and/or participant on selected project(s). - Develops critical and complex information in support of strategic business plans to meet projected requirements of business area. - Provides very complex programming and analytical support for medical cost trend analysis and strategic planning(such as verifying trends developed by Actuarial team and developing new tools for the regions to analyze medical costs). - Works cross-functionally throughout the region toward achieving operational targets. - Presents highly complex information in a way that multiple levels within an organization can understand and utilize to make appropriate decisions to meet business objectives. - Assists in development/mentoring of less experienced team members. May assist in providing direction of day to day activities.
5-8 years demonstrated leadership and project management experience.5+ years of proven analytical skills Excellent verbal & written skills; ability to build strong relationships Experience providing advisory and guidance to colleagues/partnersMust be collaborative and able to interact with leadership at all levelsDetailed, driven, motivated, able to think “outside of the box
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently.
Strong analytical ability and familiarity with advanced financial and healthcare concepts.
Advanced software and programming skills will be required in different MEU departments
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
