Aetna Marketing Communiations Manager in Wellesley, Massachusetts

The Marketing Manager position will own the end to end process of creating marketing communication programs and initiatives designed to strengthen Aetnas brand and drive business growth. As a member of the Territories Marketing Strategy team, this role will support the overall development and execution of marketing strategies and go-to-market plans that drive member acquisition and retention.

Fundamental Components:

  • Utilizes strong communication skills to create product and market messaging specific to key marketing initiatives

  • Develops an assessment process to collect local market insights to define key selling features in each local market

  • Lays out local market strengths in a concise format and packages them in a cohesive fashion to allow for optimal local market differentiation

  • Creates processes and tools that enable ongoing optimization of marketing resources and adjusts approach to maximize utilization and effectiveness

  • Identifies and executes on opportunities to drive new thinking, innovation and cost efficiency into marketing and communication approaches through new or enhanced solutions

  • Maintains awareness of communication, marketing and health care trends and competitive landscape to influence strategy development

  • Proactively initiates and leads development and execution of new projects based on business needs and priorities

  • Represents Territory Strategy Marketing team on key initiatives by providing creative and strategic insight to help shape cross-functional projects

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative partnerships with internal and external business partners

  • Provides strong creative direction on marketing projects and initiatives

  • Manages local market content development for cross-functional marketing initiatives through close collaboration with internal marketing and business partners

  • Develops communication and strategy plans to support the development and process of large marketing projects

  • Oversees additional projects and ad hoc requests to support business needs


    Requires advanced knowledge and specialized expertise in marketing communications

    Senior professional with 5+ years in communications or editorial work related experience.


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


    Functional - Communications/Brand development/4-6 Years

    Functional - Project Management/Plan development/4-6 Years


    Strong strategic, critical thinking, and conceptual abilities; ability to contribute to strategic planning discussions
