The Account Director is responsible for building strong relationships with larger self funded clients. The Account Director is an externally facing position, working with key clients and broker/consulting partners to deliver creative self funded health plan solutions to Meritain's clients. The Account Director is directly responsible for client satisfaction, the overall client experience and for driving long term partnerships with clients and their broker/consulting partners. Understanding client needs and objectives and providing regulatory guidance and analysis and guidance on plan performance are critical responsibilities for this role.

Fundamental Components:

The Account Director at Meritain Health plays a critical role in establishing, building and cultivating meaningful long term relationships with our larger customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong client management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents to drive positive client and broker experience and to help drive growth within Meritain's client base. A successful candidate will have a strong background in self funded health plans and regulatory requirements, they will seek to understand the client's business needs and objectives and can develop and deliver creative solutions to their customers. They will possess an analytical approach to utilization data, complimented by excellent communication and delivery skills and will be able to handle complex negotiations.


Strong relevant experience in health plan management, specifically self funded plans* stop loss* health care regulatory knowledge* selling skills* client management track record ability to travel* excellent written and verbal skillsability to analyze health plan utilization experience and to make recommendations based on findingshandle complex negotiations


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
