POSITION SUMMARY

This role serves as the leader and coordinator of all facets of the strategic planning process as well as ongoing monitoring and follow-ups on execution of key strategic thrusts for Aetna Group Insurance. Position also responsible for leading assigned special projects related to strategy development, key operational initiatives and/or strategy/operational execution.

Fundamental Components:

  • Execute and deliver on all corporate and specialty business requirements for strategy formulation and ongoing reporting, metrics, ad hoc requests and resolution, etc.

  • Design and perform research of all types (economic, demographics, market, competitors, customers industries, etc.) required to inform and produce a robust and well-supported strategic plan

  • Develop structure and effective timeline and meeting plans for gathering and discussing strategic plan data, input and dialogue/agreement from all key stakeholders

  • Lead and coordinate thought leadership exercises and work product to support strategy development and updates that drive profitable growth and sustainable competitive advantages for Aetna Group Insurance

  • Identify specific strategic thrusts that require further/additional development and fleshing out to optimize success. Provide follow-up work as necessary to drive such strategic imperatives to full action plans and related execution.

  • Design and execute on project plans related to specific strategic and/or operational initiatives as assigned.

  • Strong ability to effectively collaborate with and influence business partners in multiple geographic locations

  • Develop and execute effective communication plans for proper dissemination of strategic plans across the business

  • Highly effective in transforming unstructured information and/or business problems into structured strategic or operational planning and action processes.

  • Resourceful in developing methods of acquiring data and information required for robust and thoughtful strategic and business planning.

  • Travel less than 10%

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a strategic planning, analysis and execution type role (i.e. market research, competitive intelligence); in the Group Insurance or Healthcare Industry preferred.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS PowerPoint (i.e. creating presentations, incorporating graphs, presenting data)

  • Demonstrated experience in Financial management/analysis

  • Operational experience and/or operational consultative roles

  • Project and process management

  • Relationship management skills with all levels both within line of business and with partners across the enterprise

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Telework Specifications:

    Work location at one of our primary Group Insurance offices is highly preferred. However, telework may be considered for certain highly qualified candidates.
