POSITION SUMMARY

Develops and executes Quality Program, Policy & Procedure, Compliance Program, and Learning & Performance strategies that support the mission and business goals of the business segment or shared service areas to which the group is aligned. Leverages and coordinates alignment to enterprise talent strategy, Corporate Audit and Compliance standards infrastructure and tools. Oversees & drives execution of the design, development, delivery and evaluation of progressive tools, programs and continuous improvement protocols to equip Aetna employees and other related audiences to achieve superior levels of quality, service and business results.

Fundamental Components:

Through multiple managers, leads and directs the training, centralized process / procedure & standard practice, and audit/ compliance functions for the aligned organization; achieving or exceeding all of Aetnas expectations for leaders.

Leads and manages all aspects of quality programs, specialized audits, special reviews, and complex projects that enable the organization to measure, monitor, and improve the quality of its products, services, and processes. Provides direction and leadership with accountability for quality programs(s), specialized audits, special reviews, projects, and initiatives.

Oversees the development and maintenance of a single source of reference and documentation for all operational policies and procedures. Oversees the maintenance of a comprehensive repository of historical policies and practices. Leads Standard Practice Committee which generates ideas and suggestions for process improvement. Through structured and disciplined methods, implement changes (technology and process) arising from approved suggestions.

Provide streamlined information regarding process & internal technology changes to multiple audiences.

Works in partnership with Enterprise Talent Development and ILS to support business specific talent segment and leadership and mentoring needs for assigned business units. Oversees the design, development and delivery of performance-based training for designated audience, utilizing a variety of educational media, instructor led training and current technologies to ensure the right training is available to support the specific needs of multiple and diverse audiences within area(s) of accountability. Evaluates effectiveness and return on value of training programs. (*)

Ensures that Aetna's & the aligned businesss strategic messages are appropriately imbedded in training, Process/Procedure and QA programs. (*)

Drives compliance, legislative, and regulatory issues to resolution. Partners with Aetna Compliance and Legal to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to aligned business, as well as Aetna standards and guidelines.

Directs & oversees organizational communications related to learning, quality/compliance, centralized process / procedure & standard practice, ensuring that all constituents remain informed and have access to accurate, current information.

Partners and collaborates with ABX initiatives providing support from a process and training perspective.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

7-10 years professional experience managing a large Quality, Audit & Process Improvement, or Learning & Development organization.

Demonstrated ability to lead project management / process improvement & compliance function in a large, complex organization

Operational/Business knowledge preferred in Healthcare, Disability/Absence and Claims, or related areas.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
