Aetna Systems Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the install and pre/post implementation of large scale and open systems hardware/software technologies. Become knowledgeable in Aetnas computing environments to enable Aetna to meet service level agreements and respond effectively to changing business requirements.

Fundamental Components:

  • From the Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) monitor, manage and maintain a network of deployed Windows and Unix devices.

  • Work with Windows/Unix Engineers to monitor and maintain the deployed devices.

  • As a valued member of the team, he/she will diagnose issues identified by server monitoring tools and determine actions required to resolve these issues.

  • Work with various third parties (Engineers, System Architects, Infrastructure Vendors, Customers, and Developers) to achieve resolution on service-affecting issues.

  • Clearly and effectively document information in the Trouble Ticket system for communication to coworkers, other departments, and service providers.

  • Previous experience or exposure to tools such as HP OpenView, Tivoli, and/or BMC BPPM Product line, Remedy Application and /or Service Now is a plus.

  • Utilize clear communication skills when documenting and training processes to team members.

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

    Background in IT or familiarity with NOCC work is desired.

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
