POSITION SUMMARY

The Director reports to the Senior Director, Enterprise Media and leads the development of integrated, response-driven paid media campaigns. He/she will support the government line of business, acting as the strategic lead between internal product marketers and the media agency. The Director will manage multiple campaigns, leveraging the optimal mix of traditional and digital media, while driving optimizations based on data-driven insights (e.g. display, print, TV, SEM, social media). This individual will be responsible for influencing key stakeholders on strategic media decisions, and will drive innovative thinking by effectively leveraging experience, and the latest in ad technology.

Fundamental Components:

o Influence senior corporate and marketing leaders on all paid media related decisions

o Lead all paid media planning activities, working in a cross-functional role that employs innovation and utilizes inputs from the media agency, Data Sciences, Marketing and Market Research

o Develop the optimal mix of paid media channels for performance-driven campaigns, leveraging historical data, projections, and media consumption behaviors to inform recommendations

o Manage the media agency on planning and execution, working closely with marketers to employ on-going optimizations to achieve or exceed marketing objectives

o Identify target audiences based on marketing objectives and research

o Develop comprehensive media measurement strategies based on marketing objectives, identifying key performance metrics to measure performance of campaigns

o Oversee budget allocation process for media and fees across all media platforms

o Stay informed of industry developments and best practices, with an eye on emerging technologies that help increase efficiency and effectiveness

o Work with Marketing Technology and Legal to ensure all marketing activities are compliant and within Aetnas marketing governance

o Manage the flow of marketing media-related needs; create solutions and resolve problems

o Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

7-10 years of prior relevant experience required

Experience leading and managing integrated cross- channel paid media campaigns

Experience identifying optimal media mix, target audiences, and devising campaigns that drive results

Up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in marketing and measurement

Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship development skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, matrix-managed organization; and demonstrated ability to work well within teams, both in person and virtually

Experience managing teams across multiple disciplines in a collaborative environment

Critical Skills:

Strong leadership track record

Ability to effectively lead teams and foster team growth in the constantly-changing field of paid media

Ability to work in fast-paced team environment

Flexibility to accommodate demanding project schedules and competing priorities

Motivated self-starter, process-oriented with high attention to detail

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
