Aetna s Consumer Health Services Insights and Analytics Team creates cutting edge analytic tools to drive better and faster decision making within the organization. We are currently looking for an exceptional Lead Data Scientist - Healthcare to play a pivotal role in the creation and deployment of information products. The position is office based in either our NYC Office and will primarily focus on Payment Integrity and Fraud Prevention. Position Summary:

Our team uses a consultative approach to problem solving. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can evaluate the problem at hand and determines the most logical approach to solve the problem; identifies the right tools, techniques and/or algorithms. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about managing the successful delivery of the analytic solutions, algorithms, statistical models, complex analysis and reporting tools to meet business needs. The individual will act as contributor/leader of large and complex projects involving multiple data sources and tasks; the individual will also mentor junior associates in the team. Fundamental Components: · Collaborates with business partners to identify problems that analytics can solve and the problem· Create problem solver who thinks on first principles basis to evaluate multiple approaches and determines most appropriate approach/tool/technique· Explorative in understanding Aetna data systems and identifies the right data sources for the problem at hand · Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses and specialized expertise in the organization and/or industry.· Applies analytical rigor & statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques.· Manage large & complex analytical projects, not limited to data exploration, model building, performance evaluation & testing· Mentors junior team members to provide technical advice.· Acts as a thought partner to the leadership and business partners· Establishes oneself as the subject matter expert within the specific business area · Collaborates with business partners to enhanced existing approaches/tools.· Presents highly complex analyses to business partners and leadership in simple language and gain alignment Background/Experience:· Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare insurance industry, products, systems and business strategies required.· 5 or more years related experience with healthcare data analytics, statistical analysis, visualization tools, predictive modeling/machine learning techniques· Expertise in SQL and programming languages such as SAS, R, Python.· Expertise in visualization tools such as Tableau.· Consulting experience working with healthcare client companies is a plus.· Strong organizational and leadership skills. Education · Master s Degree preferred.
