2018 Summer Associate Program – Analytics & Behavior Change Graduate InternshipOur graduate student Summer Associate Programs are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. Many of our Summer Associates are offered jobs with Aetna after graduation. You'll work side by side with people who value your enthusiasm and creativity. The Summer Associate Programs typically last 10 to 12 weeks, 40 hours a week, from June to August. You ll be assigned to a business area and work on tasks you would experience if you worked here full time. Program Dates: June 4th, 2018 – August 10th, 2018Locations: New York, NY; Wellesley, MAWhat is Analytics & Behavior Change?Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC) is a central and significant component in Aetna s mission to building a healthier world. The team leverages predictive analytics, machine learning, modeling and business intelligence methods to not only help improve the quality of health care and to manage cost but also to better understand our members and how Aetna can help them on their personal health journeys. A&BC is made up of six verticals of focus:· Member Analytics· Marketing & Sales Analytics· Enterprise Analytics· Clinical Analytics· Provider Analytics · Plan Sponsor Analytics What will you do?As an Analytics & Behavior Change intern you will get the opportunity to dive deep into healthcare data using various cutting edge tools and work with Aetna business partners to continue to transform the health care industry by providing solutions to problems and insights to greater efficiencies. You will:Explore and interpret large volumes of existing health care data focused on addressing a particular business objectiveDevelop, execute and validate predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions Use data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decisionsDocument projects including business objectives, data gathering and processing, detailed set of results and analytical metricsWhat do you bring?Good written and verbal communication skills; Able to document and present information to various audiences and work in a team environmentAbility to navigate problems and roadblocks as they occurExperience in data modeling, machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis and data visualizationKnowledge of the following tools: SQL, SAS, Hadoop, Hive, Tableau Python and/or R.You re eligible to apply if you:Are currently enrolled in college pursuing a relevant graduate degree and/or a professional certification in the field of Modeling, Data Analytics, Data Science, etc. with an anticipated graduation date after August 2018Have a current cumulative GPA and major GPA of 3.5+Additional InformationOpportunities to join a fast-paced, leading edge and growing Data Science team in the transforming Health industry upon graduation.
