The Wellness Consultant will work closely with risk management and the Wellness Team in executing the client's Wellness initiatives. The primary focus of this position will be to drive health promotion in collaboration with the benefits wellness programs thru campaigns that include seminars, wellness campaigns and the development of educational materials.

The Wellness Consultant will be a resource to workers compensation adjusters regarding comorbidity impacts and facilitate plans for mitigation

This is an onsite position with the client in Miami but does require local travel between sites. This is a combination of wellness program management and disease management (case management). The position is autonomous and there is an opportunity to be creative.

Fundamental Components:

Occupational Health ConsultingCollaborate with Onsite M-DCPS Healthcare Vendor Management Representatives to support health care needs of employeesEstablish monthly calendar of events and/or resourcesParticipate on Wellness CommitteeProvide Wellness Resources to support employee educationProvide educational health/wellness seminars or materials in collaboration with risk and health wellness coordinators to selected employee groups/adjusters and locationsFacilitate and/or participate in the delivery of M-DCPS Wellness Program and Health Fair events.Monitor and report outcomes of eventsPromote the Rebuilding Me program through event management and social media presence.Assist with coordination of efforts for preventative vaccine programs, according to Health Plan benefits.

Establish community relationships and resources for employee reference, support and/or treatment. Monitor effectiveness of resources

Provide outreach to the member regarding wellness related needs, provide wellness information documents to the member Case Collaboration Assist adjusters with understanding of impact that pre-existing, non-occupational medical conditions may have on recovery from work injuriesFunction as a resource for adjuster questions related to, medical conditions and treatmentsCollaborate with the adjuster and provides urgent information via Coventry Case Management system feeding directly into GB claim system, phone, fax, or email Collaborate with Work Comp Nurse Consultant on designated employee claims, to minimize impact of co-morbidities, and assist employee with medical treatment options not related to occupational injury


Bachelor s degree in Health and Wellness, Nursing or related fieldMinimum of 3-5 years experience in implementing health and wellness programs/initiativesExperience in health education and wellness coachingDemonstrated experience in conducting educational presentationsDemonstrated ability to communicate to senior levels of the organization in both oral and written formsExperience in tracking, trending and analyzing resultsBi-lingual Spanish preferredStrong communication skills – verbal and writtenCollaboration skillsAbility to work independentlyOrganizational AgilityTeam PlayerRelationship builder


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
