Support sales team with new sales or existing business with activities that may include, but are not limited to, entry level sales training, assisting on projects for a book of business, inside sales, sales proposal development, quote tool completion, customer reporting and constituent relations (producers, plan sponsors, customers). Additional sales related activities will include cold calls to brokers to secure appointments, database research and other activities to support sales growth. Duties will also include implementation assistance including obtaining signed paperwork and coordinating externally and internally.

Fundamental Components:

May support and contributes to profitable sales and new business proposals.

Assists with underwriting case preparation, including scrubbing (reviewing the data to ensure all information is provided) the RFPs, as appropriate. Outreach externally to speak with brokers and consultants will be required. The ability to establish and build rapport easily is required.

Works with sales support area in support of RFP processing and proposal development, including but not limited to: review of questionnaires (when applicable), network analysis, cover letter preparation and coordinating with compliance and legal as needed.

Completes entry level sales training and actively participates in ongoing sales training, including presentation skills, strategy, and producer development.

Assists in the cultivation and development of producer and consultant contacts in the assigned territory with the sales executive, sales vice president and manager of the territory.

Collaborates with team members, as appropriate, on case installation to manage the integration of client's and Aetna's internal organizations, ensuring a smooth installation. Assists with sold paperwork.


Up to one to three years industry or customer service experience depending on role.

Previous industry or sales experience (though not required) depending on business segment being supported and the products and services being sold.

License as required by state laws.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
