POSITION SUMMARYThe Cyber Security Engineer proactively protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in the custody of, or processed by, the company. You will be an expert in the Information security area. You will monitor, analyze, improve, administer and maintain secure system access to Aetna internal resources for employees, affiliates and external customers. This is accomplished both by applying existing security policies and standards as well as identifying the need to update and/or create new policies and standards as the risk landscape changes. RequirementsTo be considered for this position, applicants need to meet the qualifications listed in this posting. Minimum of 5 years of information security experience – Healthcare industry (preferred)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a discipline with compliments the roleAny of the following certifications: CISSP (preferred), pertinent SANS certifications (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, etc…)Key objectives: Work as part of a global team to maintain security and integrity of corporate data and IT systems through activities including: · Work with business units and with other risk functions to identify security requirements, using methods that may include security risk and business impact assessments· Security incident response duties as a member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team · Working experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, proxy, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), vulnerability assessment , monitoring tools, email engineering· Functional knowledge of Unix and Windows server operating systems· Represent the security needs of the organization by providing expertise and assistance in all IT projects with regard to security issues· Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies· Proficient with security principles, approaches and technologies · Oral and written communication skills to enable effective and meaningful information exchange between technical and non-technical people across multiple levels of organizational structure· Contribute to IT risk identification, classification and response processes · General knowledge of IT Audit techniques· Awareness of regulatory and legislative drivers that affect the healthcare industry; HIPAA, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS· Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge:· Knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls· In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies.· Technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, identity and access management (IAM) systems, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance tools, and desktop security toolsSkills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective security incident and problem resolutionProven ability to work under stress in emergencies, with the flexibility to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneouslyQuick learnerApply critical thinking, critical judgmentAbility to work well under minimal supervisionStrong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors and IT-business personnelStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer/client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately, provide a superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships
The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
