POSITION SUMMARY

Support Aetna's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through effective support of financial closing, planning, and forecasting management processes. Assists in the coordination and execution of the Specialty Businesses centralized performance and management processes. This position works closely with Specialty business and finance partners. Responsible for providing analysis, presentations, and other communications within Specialty.

Fundamental Components:

  • Responsible for maintaining and distributing a Finance / Business schedule for all deliverables and review meetings included in the management process; holding team accountable for meeting deliverables and scheduling appropriate business reviews to assist with the preparation of deliverables

  • Responsible for coordinating the Specialty monthly close process, ensuring a an accurate set of financial schedules along with commentary for use in management process

  • Responsible for coordinating the Specialty Businesses management review processes, ensuring an accurate set of financial schedules and commentary to support key management meetings (QBR,MOR,OC, ELT, BOD)

  • Responsible for the Specialty Businesses Forecasting process working closely with Corporate Planning (PPRM) and Institutional Businesses Finance teams to understand timing and required key deliverables

  • Responsible for preparing all Specialty summary level financial reporting and analytics in support of centralized performance and management process; strong Hyperion and analytic skills required, PowerPoint and executive presentation skills a plus

  • Partner with CFOs and P/L owners across Specialty Businesses to gather results and commentary, assist in the identification and resolution of key issues and result drivers

  • Partner with Specialty Businesses Expense Management to help analyze monthly results, quarterly forecasts, and annual operating plan

  • Assist in the management of the Specialty Scorecard process across all businesses

  • Address problems of a short to mid-term nature independently and address longer-term issues with limited supervision

  • Prepares / mocks up of any necessary templates; socializes with key constituents

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • 3-5 years experience in any of the following areas: financial planning & analysis, accounting, business/enterprise strategy, project management, or management consulting

  • Strong Hyperion and MS Excel skills required

  • Experience with MS PowerPoint and executive communication skills suggested

  • Experience developing detailed analysis, presentations, commentary, and support

  • Demonstrated relationship management skills

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
