POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Finance Shared Services organization is currently seeking an Senior Informatics Consultant / Lead. The successful candidate will join the Finance Share Services Data Governance team where we are focused on providing high quality data to the Finance Organization to support a variety of analytic and reporting needs. Activities include project management, design and development of analytical solutions and the development of the Finance Data Governance program. We are looking for candidates with broad healthcare knowledge and technical experience with Tableau, SAS and/or SQL.

Fundamental Components:

  • Provide project management support, project planning, oversight and communication for Finance sponsored projects Participate in IT projects to provide subject matter expertise, requirements about Aetna's healthcare data.

  • Must have analytical and reporting experience using a variety of healthcare data (claim, member, clinical)

  • Provide input into the development and maintenance of activity management tool designed to track and support master data management activities.

  • Provide support and documentation for related data, tools and applications.

  • Work with business stakeholders and others to understand and use the data.

  • May need to develop training materials and train business users.

  • Proactively leads assigned project by creating project timeline, identifying key milestones and additional resources needed to successfully complete the work.

  • Responsible for commitments to quality and on-time deliverables.

  • Motivated and is willing to understand and probe into technical details and data irregularities.

  • Assists with various process improvement initiatives to help achieve the team goals.

  • Willing to learn new techniques, tools and approaches and in turn train others on these skills.

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills.

  • Ideal candidates will have knowledge of claim, membership and/or clinical service categories.

  • Must understand concepts of data warehousing, software development, project management and data stewardship.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill Agile project experience highly desired

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Knowledge of reporting applications and data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar.

    The ideal candidates must have broad knowledge and understanding of healthcare data, Aetna's products and services, and the importance of high quality data and information. An understanding of Data Warehouse environments, including data marts and business intelligence tools and their usage is highly desired. This is a matrix environment, facilitating meetings, and must have knowledge of system development lifecycles.
