POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Senior Benefits Consultant for our Hartford, CT location. The successful candidate will execute and manage the timely and accurate delivery of employee and retiree health and welfare benefits, disability plans, wellness and incentive programs, financial benefits and related services for active employees, retirees and other customer groups.

Fundamental Components:

The Senior Benefits Consultant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee and retiree health and welfare plans (including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, COBRA, and other employee-paid benefits), retirement/financial plans including pension and 401(k), and other benefit plans as required. Through a shared services delivery model, the consultant is responsible for optimizing business results by:

Handles escalated benefit inquiries and interacts with employees at all business levels to respond to their needs

Understands and stays current on the demographics, habits and practices, needs and preferences of assigned consumer segments and uses this information in the design and delivery of benefits

Manages and provides effective vendor management and relationships with multiple internal and external service providers

Leads or participates in the development and implementation of marketing, communications, and training strategies and plans for assigned benefits and customer groups

Partners with Mergers and Acquisitions in the due-diligence, planning, integration, communication and onboarding of company acquisitions

Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules

Identifies and uses metrics needed to assess return on investment in benefits regarding workforce productivity, and/or in consulting with business areas if/how benefits can impact workforce productivity

Applies continuous improvement methodologies and tools that will help transform our business to deliver customer value, a better experience for our people, and competitive excellence

Manage special projects, as assigned, in support of department priorities and/or professional development

May manage staff and/or project teams.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

7+ years experience in administration of employees benefits plans/services including related financials

Demonstrated expertise in consulting, influencing, and working collaboratively across the org.

Highly experienced using key performance indicators that drive benefits design decisions

Project management experience for large company-wide programs

Experienced w/vendor management

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Human Resources/Certified Employee Benefits Specialist is desired

Human Resources/Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) is desired
