This position is located in Hartford, CT. Put your Business Analyst/ Consulting/ Data analyst skills to work in an exciting role effecting the decision making process for the Medicare QIA efforts. The successful candidate is responsible for driving the development, management and implementation of Aetna Medicares quality investment spend and work with all Medicare departments and bring the data supporting QIA activities in a single dashboard and build Operational and effectiveness metrics.

Fundamental Components:

  1. Write requirements, source to target mapping to support QIA database/ reporting build

  2. Build a business architecture/ workflow of data coming in/ going out for the assigned projects.

  3. Creates and evaluates the data needs of assigned projects and assures the integrity of the data

  4. Perform data analysis independently digging through the root cause of problems in Data, backend tables.

  5. Negotiate with other departments on the data needs, file formats/ issues.

  6. Designs and conducts analyses and share the outcome with non-IT business group.

  7. Working on agile projects while closely engaging with business and functional analyst.


  8. 10+ years Business Analyst experience

  9. 2+ years Project/ Program manager experience

  10. Strong problem solving, and data skills

  11. SQL Experience (DB2 or SQL Server)

  12. Ability to recognize complex problems vs. objectives and apply creativity to analyze situations, develop solutions and procedures

  13. Proactive Leadership

  14. Excellent communication skills


    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    This is the first Business Analyst role on a team of 45 people and will be highly influential for driving business process alignment and integration activities along with performance management initiatives to best position Aetna Medicare to succeed in a quality-driven marketplace.
