Work closely with Aetna's businesses to initiate insurance and risk management programs to reduce the financial risk of loss through exposure. Responsible for identification, implementation of loss control programs and overseeing insurance program placements.
-Reports to Director of Risk Management.
-Understand the business's operations to provide technical advice and information on exposure
trends, loss exposures, insurance programs available and risk management services for the industry.
-Utilize reports compiled on health care related claims and lawsuits to set up cost effective
risk management methods to protect corporate and business assets and minimize exposures to loss.
-Prepare underwriting submissions and analyze associated risk to drive loss control programs for
reduction of such risk.
-Work with claims administrators to negotiate and monitor claim settlements to expediently
maximize recovery on first party losses and minimize third party payments on third party losses.
-Review lease agreements, management agreements, vendor contracts and policies and procedures to
identify risks and provide recommendations for minimizing exposures to losses.
-Assist management in administering an equitable allocation program for risk financing expenses
to businesses and affiliates for budgeting and loss control purposes.
-Identify options and provide recommendations for the design and development of risk management
information system (RMIS); develop and update appropriate data bases for exposure data and losses;
provide management information reports to assist unit in loss control efforts and claim
administration as well as individual claim reserving.
-Bachelors degree in risk management, finance or business related field
-2-5 years experience in risk management or related insurance/loss control function ARM, CPCU, CIC or other professional Insurance designation
-Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Excel/Access/ Power Point
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Risk Management/Associate in Risk Management (ARM) is desired
Risk Management/Certified Risk Manager (CRM) is desired
Insurance/Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) is desired
