Aetna EAP Clinical Counselor in Hartford, Connecticut

This is an office based role in one of the following offices: Hartford, CT or Austin, TX.


Responsible for provision of telephone-based consultation, counseling and informational services to members. Provides one-time, ongoing counseling, outreach follow up, and/or lifestyle management services, leveraging the outcomes tools in support of optimal care. Must hold a clinical license in their state.

Fundamental components include but are not limited to:

Member Support Counseling Informational Services Team member support.


-One of the following licenses is required: LCSW, LPC, LMFT

-3-5 years of EAP, Behavioral Health or Social Services experience is required

-Experience in facilitating client positive behavioral change is required

-Strong computer & literacy skills are required

-Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply

-Crisis intervention skills are required

-Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence

-Experience in handling mental health and psychiatric issues, family situations


The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.


One of the following licenses below is required:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Licensed Professional Counselor

Marriage & Family Therapist


Direct patient care (hospital, private practice)/1-3 Years


Microsoft Outlook/1-3 Years

Microsoft Explorer/1-3 Years

Telework Specifications:

Option for telework will be evaluated after a minimum of 6 months of successful performance and business needs but is not an option at this time.


EAP reimburses clinical staff license renewal yearly fees and we reimburse up to $300 a year in CEU's.
