POSITION SUMMARY

This position within Aetna's International Actuarial organization supports the profitable growth of health insurance products across North and South America. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: pricing strategy development and implementation, support for geographic expansion initiatives, business planning/forecasting, cost analytics, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Fundamental Components:

Key responsibilities will include:

-Build, enhance, maintain and utilize analytics tools to assess the performance, risks and opportunities within the International block.

-Identify, develop and implement pricing and rating strategies to improve business performance and achieve growth objectives

-Take active role in due diligence of potential partnerships and/or merger/acquisition opportunities in the international space.

-Collaborate with underwriting, field sales, and international product in assessing competitive positioning of international products and generate approaches to effectively manage Aetnas financial risk within new product offerings.

-Potential for managerial opportunities.

-Have opportunities to present results to both internal and external audiences.

-It is crucial for any candidate to have the ability to take full ownership of assignments and act as lead wherever possible.

-Problem solving skills are critical as many of the concepts are new or in development.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Bachelor's degree along w/5+ years related experience

Associate/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is required

strong analytical skills along w/Excel

Prior pricing experience & forecasting is necessary

Must have a creative mindset to be able to develop new product lines for international

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required

Actuarial/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is desired

Actuarial/Member of the American Academy of Actuaries is desired
