Aetna Assistant Actuary in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

This position within the Accountable Care Solutions (ACS) organization assists in the expansion of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Joint Venture Partnerships (JVs) and other Value Based Contracts (VBCs) across the US.
Key responsibilities will include:
Ownership of the Narrow Network Pricing tool: Build, enhance, maintain and use Access and Excel tools to assess the value that is expected to be created through VBC partnerships using medical cost data
Support the development of methodologies, tools and processes to track and evaluate VBC performance post launch as compared to initial expectations.
Potential opportunities to support the VBC pricing for a particular market
Opportunities to present both results and tools to both internal and external audiences
Participate on various project teams, for initiatives both within and outside the department
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years relevant experience
ASA (or close to ASA designation) is preferred
Superior communication skills are required
Strong and well-rounded strategic thinker desired
The best candidate will be collaborative and solution-oriented, will have excellent actuarial judgment, will exhibit attention to detail, and will be innovative and able to work cross-functionally
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is desired
Functional - Actuarial/Modeling & tool development/1-3 Years
Functional - Actuarial/Financial actuarial analysis/1-3 Years
Finance/Delivering Profit and Performance/ADVANCED
General Business/Communicating for Impact/ADVANCED
Leadership/Collaborating for Results/ADVANCED
General Business/Turning Data into Information/ADVANCED
Work location is flexible. Currently the ACS team is in Hartford, Blue Bell and Kansas City.
