Position Summary/Mission

The Product Manager, Europe region is responsible for leading product ideation and development, product design and product management for the Europe region. This should be done in alignment with Aetna International¡¦s overall product strategy. This position will provide strategic and tactical direction to a team of diverse employees and will matrix and leverage global resources. The Product Manager will lead Aetna International¡¦s Europe product development iniatives, establishing strong relationships with senior leadership and engaging directly in the business.

Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements

  • Provide strategic direction and foundation for product ideation and development for Europe region.

  • Accountable for product design for growing portfolio of ex-pat, high net worth and more benefit products.

  • Leadership of developing and implementing customized products for customers based upon identified requirements.

  • Participate in the leadership of identifying process improvements to workflows to create improved operational efficiency.

  • Cultivates strong relationships externally including brokers, providers, government organizations and regulatory/legislative representatives.

  • Cultivates strong internal relationships necessary for effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • Responsible for the strategic planning.

  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of insured and in particular ex-pat and high end local national products

  • Considers end-to-end flow of the business and each area¡¦s contribution to Aetna¡¦s financial and competitive success.

  • Encourages new thinking.

  • Builds effective customer relationships; meets customer expectations

  • Drives and executes strategy:

  • Develops and monitors plans to achieve profitable growth.

  • Promotes cross-functional and communication and collaboration in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Proven experience building relationships and working hand in hand with sales and service organizations.

Background/Experience Desired

• Proven experience in product design from idea generation to product launch.

• Experience in health insurance preferred, though other insurance backgrounds will be considered.

• International experience preferred

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Batchelors degree with proven product experience within a corporate or agency setting, MBA a plus.
