The Director of System Support leads a strong technical team responsible for vendor operations for payment and clinical policy claims editing systems provided by companies such as McKesson. Vendor solutions and oversight applies across multiple claim platforms and business units. Must be familiar with the vendor contract provisions and work with Procurement to negotiate contract amendments. The position requires ongoing collaboration with multiple areas of the enterprise, including information technology, claim operations, medical policy, clinical policy, medical cost reduction programs, as well as regulatory and legal functional areas.

Fundamental Components:

Lead the team and develop individual contributors.

Develop and manage vendor relationships.

Initiate funding requests for Service Request enhancements and projects following the Aetna Project Life Cycle (APLC).

Manage day-to-day program/development activities and deliver implementation projects according to scope, schedule and budget.

Ensure project governance and financial requirements are met.

Effectively communicate project requirements, challenges, and outcomes to senior leadership

Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast paced environment.


5+ years managed care / health insurance industry experience.

Proven track record managing complex projects and / or programs.

Proven ability to deliver product on time and on budget

Experience managing and/or working with teams that are geographically dispersed.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
