This position will work with New Mexico Department of Insurance. Anyone with an existing relationships with New Mexico Department of Insurance is highly preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary/Mission

Responsibilities include: auditing, investigating, training/education and enforcement, ongoing consultation on compliance issues impacting businesses, interfacing with industry groups and regulators on compliance with laws and regulators, monitoring and reporting on adherence to compliance controls, recommending and helping businesses to implement compliance controls

Fundamental Components:

Prepares and files routine regulatory reports, data calls, non-product filings, and handles regulatory inquiry responses with appropriate oversight by manager. Handles multiple projects simultaneously more complex matters are handled with oversight by manager (*)

Leads routine business process reviews and assists with regulatory exams and inquiries

May be responsible for leading a project team; may function as back up for project manager

Coaches and provides training to other team members

Furnishes support for internal and external auditors with oversight by manager (*)

Identifies and implements solutions to compliance gaps, where appropriate (*)

Develops and communicates routine compliance procedures (*)

Monitors subsequent adherence to compliance action plan (*)

Reinforces companys commitment to compliance (*)

Maintains effective relationships with various audience levels. Escalates issues requiring resolution on a timely basis

Produces summaries and/or action plans for assigned laws (*)

Helps the business understand regulatory requirements (*)

Responds to inquiries (*)

Conducts law searches as necessary (*)

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

5+ years experience in a regulatory compliance position in healthcare, insurance or financial services.

Education and Certification Requirements

B.A./B.S. preferred or equivalent/relevant work experience.

Advanced degree and management experience preferred.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
